As it became known, the legendary fourth-generation Mitsubishi Pajero SUV is leaving the Russian automotive market. Earlier, the manufacturer curtailed sales at home in Japan, and a month ago sold the latest models in Europe. According to available information, from November 1, 2019, the sale of the last batch of Mitsubishi Pajero of 500 copies will start in Russia. The legendary SUV fell victim to the mass optimization of the Nissan-Renault-Mitsubishi concern. The reason for this was the resignation of Carlos Ghosn, which pulled a chain of misunderstandings and all sorts of rearrangements in the leadership.

In other words, such a reshuffle has brought the collapse of the alliance and it urgently needs to be rescued. The production of new models has been delayed, and Mitsubishi has suffered the most from this, since there is no way to attract potential buyers. We are not talking about ASX or Outlander crossovers, they will definitely receive new generations, but Pajero will most likely be closed completely, since the new generation has not been prepared, besides, the development of a new SUV for the company is now out of budget. Another stone for the closure of the model was the decline in demand, which also pulled a decrease in capital inflows. For a short period of time, the manufacturer promised to leave the Mitsubishi Pajero in Africa, South America, the Middle East and Australia. As practice shows, Pajero will not hold out on the Russian market, since cars without updates and modern technologies simply lose demand, even despite the power and maneuverability. Regarding OTTS for the fourth generation of Pajero, the license expires on December 14, 2019. Despite the fact that sales of the fourth generation Mitsubishi Pajero in Russia have grown since the beginning of 2019, the company's representatives refused to renew the license.

According to available statistics, in the first 3 quarters of 2019, dealerships sold 884 Pajero SUVs, while 583 cars of this model were sold for the entire 2018. If we talk about the pre-crisis period in 2014, then the 4th generation Pajero SUV sold out at all with an indicator of 7927 cars per year. Representatives of the company on November 22 officially announced the start of the sale of the last 500 copies, made in a limited commemorative version of the Final Edition. Both externally and internally, the SUV received the appropriate nameplates, as well as a personal certificate. Sales start on November 1st.

Except for the nameplates, the final configurations of the 4th generation Mitsubishi Pajero will not receive any other differences. As before, the legendary SUV will be offered in two basic trim levels: Instyle and Ultimate. Under the hood, a 3.0-liter V6 gasoline engine is available with a capacity of 174 horses and a maximum torque of 255 Nm. The engine is paired with a 5-speed automatic transmission and an all-wheel drive system. Given the demand and the fact that the car will no longer be offered in Russia, limited editions will sell out quickly. In the future, it will be possible to find the Mitsubishi Pajero IV SUV only on the secondary market of Russia.

It is possible that Mitsubishi may present a new SUV in the near future. According to experts, it will soon be a large crossover, since the passable qualities are worse than that of the Pajero. As before, the company will leave on the conveyor the frame Pajero Sport, which is in many ways similar to the demanded L200 pickup truck.
