The start of sales of the Kia Optima 2016 is scheduled for March 9, you can already pre-order on the company's website. It is noteworthy that special Kia Remoto branded equipment can be installed on the car. We'll talk about it later.
Design Kia Optima 2016
The designers did a good job on the appearance. This is not to say that the exterior has changed a lot, but many details have undergone specific processing. So let's start right from the forehead. Here we can have either chrome or black, depending on the configuration, the radiator grille, which is integrated with the head optics, even has one long chrome bar along its entire length. There are six color options to choose from, for example blue metallic (Gravity Blue) looks very impressive. But everyone else is cute too.
The bumper may also differ depending on the configuration. Daytime running lights can be integrated here, or there can be air intakes. In any case, a long chrome strip will run almost along the front bumper skirt, which emphasizes the width of the car, as well as the air intake.
In the profile, you can immediately recognize Optima. The manufacturer tried to carefully hide this by changing the proportions of the roof, as well as its slope, but Optima remained the same beauty. This is especially evident in the specific glass in the C-pillar. In general, here the design is worked out to such trifles that, apart from the whole picture, individual details cannot be considered. For example, there are four alloy wheel options that range from 16 to 18 inches. The chrome edging, which stretches from the A-pillar to the trunk lid, visually lands the roof, even the extra 5-6 centimeters that go higher are invisible. If you do not know that it is there, then you can take it for glare in the sun.
The rear end of the 2016 Kia Optima is as gorgeous as any other. There are LED lights, which greatly expand the model, they smoothly flow to the frame under the registration plate. The semi-oval shape of the boot lid creates a pleasant, highly positive resemblance to a premium Audi. In the GT version, the buyer will receive an aerodynamic body kit that sets the car apart from competitors in its class.

Interior Kia Optima (2016-2016)
For starters, the 2016 Kia Optima comes in two color options, beige or black. So, the instrument panel, like most instruments, has been redesigned. The interior has ceased to be so catchy, there is more calmness, conservatism and solidity. First of all, this is reflected in the instrument panel. It has become more traditional, but still has the SuperVision look. There are two analog indicators of speed and engine speed, and between them a 3.7-inch display is wedged in, which will tell the driver about the state of the main systems in the car, for example, fuel consumption, mileage on the remaining stock, and so on.
Despite the fact that there is a very high level of technology here, all this is not striking and does not cause the feeling of futurism that literally haunts drivers in all modern cars. Perhaps the torpedo is also capable of making an impression. The flowing lines framing the center console, instrument cluster and glove box all look very stylish. Aluminum inserts in some places only reinforce the impression.
On the left, on the driver's door, as in the previous generation, you can see the memory buttons for seats and mirrors. In general, we should talk about the center console. There are three levels, the first of which is a touchscreen display serving multimedia and navigation. Slightly lower is the changer control unit, and even lower is the climate control. In general, such a layout gained popularity back in 2010, but it became so successful that Kia decided not to abandon it, and also to make the controls larger than the last generation of Optima. For the convenience of the driver, the console itself is turned towards him by 8.5 degrees.
If you raise your head, then in some trim levels you can see the roof control unit, which is here divided into separate sections. In any case, each of them knows how to move independently of the others. LED lighting for reading road maps will be available in any configuration.
The back sofa is the secondary consideration when buying a car. The wheelbase has been increased by an inch, while this is not the only increase in shape. The manufacturer redesigned the backrests of the front seats, which made it possible to add good legroom for the rear passengers.
The sofa seems to be molded for two riders, however, it will be quite comfortable for three here, since the pillow is completely flat, and the backrest for the third passenger, despite the fact that in the folded position it serves as an armrest, turned out to be very comfortable. As befits a car of this class, rear passengers can control the air conditioner themselves, but there is no climate control for them.
If you look closely, you can see that there are small hinges on which the seat back reclines. It is divided in a ratio of 2: 3. In the normal state, the volume of the trunk will be 510 liters, and the manufacturer does not share data on the state with the backrests folded.
Kia Optima (2016-2017): specifications
First of all, it should be said about the body. It was completely redesigned and, according to company representatives, became one and a half times stronger in torsion and in a head-on collision. This was achieved thanks to the use of high-strength steel, as well as elongated welds. Traditional MacPherson strut front suspension, multi-link rear. Nothing new, but the smoothness and responsiveness of the steering wheel, in comparison with the previous generation, have improved, according to the manufacturer.
So, under the hood, a pair of engines are installed, which were presented in its predecessor, but the third engine became a novelty for the 4th generation Kia Optima. The first engine is the same kopeck piece, developing 150 horsepower. Admittedly, the car has grown heavier by more than 100 kilograms, which has a negative impact on consumption and dynamics. Now such an engine will need 7.7 liters on the highway, or 10.4 liters in the city. All the same, not a lot, but on average it is 0.7 liters more than its predecessor. Acceleration to hundreds will still be 9.5 seconds, but the maximum speed has decreased from 210 to 205 km / h. This data is based on a 6-speed manual transmission. If we consider the version with an automatic transmission, which has the same switching ranges, then all the characteristics will correspond to the previous version.
The second power unit of the Kia Optima was slightly boosted, thanks to which it was possible to remove 188 horsepower from it, as well as 241 Nm of torque. It must be admitted that all the changes were skimmed by the difference in mass. Here, all the same 210 km / h maximum, acceleration to a hundred in 9.1 seconds, consumption on the highway a little more than 8 liters, in the city - a little more than 12 liters. And yes, as in the previous generation, such an engine is only equipped with an automatic transmission.
The third, top-end engine is a turbo four with a volume of only two liters, but its power is 245 horsepower, and the torque that was squeezed out of it is 350 Nm.These numbers inspire respect. On such a car, you can change the first hundred in 7 seconds, and the maximum can be accelerated to 240 km / h. Very good. But, such a monster must be fed, and in those moments when the turbine enters the battle, namely at medium speed, the engine turns from a small kid into a giant, which needs at least 8.5 liters on the highway or almost 13 liters in the city. Although, if you look at the characteristics of competitors, then these numbers will not seem so large.
Kia Optima 2016: price and configuration
There are six configuration options on the Russian market. In some of them, I must admit, I would like to see something more. Let's not delay and start.
Complete set Classic
This is what is called "naked." For 1,069,000 rubles, I must say, there are more acceptable options, but more on that later. Here the buyer gets all the airbags, except for those for the driver's knees, an uphill start assist system, air conditioning, an on-board computer and cruise control. There will also be a light sensor, heated and electrically operated mirrors, as well as a heated wiper zone.
Inside, the equipment boasts a multifunction steering wheel, power windows, a standard audio system of four speakers with AUX and USB. There will also be an outlet. In addition, the buyer will receive a base 16-inch casting here.
Comfort
There are more changes here than meets the eye. Yes, there is an automatic transmission along with a 150-horsepower engine, but in addition to this, a rain sensor, foglights, heated steering wheel and front seats, as well as leather steering wheel and gearshift lever will be added. You will have to pay extra for all this, thus, at the Kia Optima 2016, the price in the Comfort configuration will be about 1,200,000 rubles.
Luxe equipment
Any engine is available here, except for a turbocharged one. However, if you want a mechanic, then you should not look in this direction, there is only a machine gun. There will be paddle shifters, electric front seat adjustments with two-position memory. Also, the list of innovations will be supplemented by climate control and parking sensors, both front and rear. The size of disks in this configuration will increase to 17 inches, and the price to 1.4 million rubles.
Prestige
In this configuration, the buyer gets something for a reasonable amount. When we say something, we mean something worth the money. There will be a blind spot monitoring system, a keyless entry system and a rear view camera. The multimedia will be supplemented by Hi-Fi, a navigator, and the comfort in the cabin will be increased thanks to leather trim, the optics will be xenon. For this, it is no longer a pity, and 1.5 million, which will still have to be paid.
GT-line equipment
The list of equipment here includes an automatic valet parking, an all-round camera, adaptive lighting, a front center armrest with wireless charging, front seat ventilation and a panoramic sunroof. There will be 18-inch wheels, and the price of the complete set will be 1 million 579 thousand rubles.
GT
This configuration is immediately different from others. It has a slightly different bumper with more aggressive air ducts, GT logos on the seatbacks, red double stitching in the cabin. All accessories will have to pay 1.7 million rubles.
