Review of the new Nissan Almera 2015-2016, the start of sales is scheduled for April. See the description of innovations, photos and differences from the previous model.
With the onset of the new year, the Japanese presented the next update of the Nissan Almera, in comparison with the previous generation, it is nothing like it at all, it began to resemble more the team from different parts of Nissan sedans. In the CIS countries and Europe, in particular Russia, this car will be called Versa.
The filling of the new Nissan Almera 2015 and the chassis are borrowed from the Renault Logan. Production is in full swing on the conveyors of AvtoVAZ. For the first time, the updated model was presented in Thailand, the start of sales in our area is scheduled for April 2015. The market offers both the simplest budget and more advanced premium and "sport classes" configurations.
I had the opportunity in Thailand to rent a new Nissan Almera 1.2 CVT produced in 2015 in almost the most "miserable" configuration, so I will test it on the trip. I'm going to drive more than 2,000 km. Who cares, a month of renting this car in Pattaya costs about $ 585. The car is practically new, there were only 10 thousand kilometers on the counter.
Exterior Nissan Almera 2015-2016
In the exterior of the new Nissan Almera 2015, designers tried to embody design solutions from the large sedan Nissan Teana. But the small chassis from Logan and the large body from Teana had to be adjusted. Making a scaled-down copy of a high-end sedan meant that many body parts had to be altered and downsized, which in turn became awkward to look at. Let's go in a circle to consider the updates of the car. The front of the Almera has gone through a full facelift, or otherwise completely changed.
The grille of the Nissan Almera 2015, unlike the previous model, has become a little smaller, by three strips, in the old one it was by four. The main grille is only chrome-plated. Also, the buyer can choose the color of the lower grille, under the car body, black or chrome for maximum trim levels. The previous model often came with a chrome lower grille, the upper grill was painted in body color.
With the grille change, the shape and hood of the Nissan Almera changed, it became a little smaller and does not grip the upper part of the grill. Now the hood is joined to the top of the bumper. As for the headlights, they also underwent modernization, in the old model they were rounded and went completely along the hood of the car, while the new ones have an elongated shape, with sharp ends and go only up to half of the hood, the rest is stretched along the bumper along the side of the radiator grill.
Having withstood all lighting standards, manufacturers decided to leave the usual halogen lamps in the headlights.
The wipers were also left unchanged, only for the maximum configuration they added a delay timer.
The lower part of the bumper has undergone changes. Fog lights in the Nissan Almera 2015 are equipped with black inserts, only in the maximum configuration of the VL CVT there are chrome inserts, the lower part of the bumper with a grill with a wider bottom, which is quite the opposite than in the previous model. Repeaters of turns appeared on the front fenders for any configuration, they are closer to the rear-view mirrors, in the previous model they were installed only on the maximum configuration. The door handles are chrome-plated, only the basic S MT comes in black.
A pleasant innovation is the spoiler, which is included in all configurations without exception, which gives the car an improved look even in the basic configuration. Side mirrors of the new Nissan Almera 2015 remain the same shape, the function of electronic adjustment and folding is available for all trim levels, except for the basic configuration. In the 2014 model, this pleasure was available only for the highest trim levels for an additional fee. The mirrors in the basic S MT trim are black in color, in other trim levels they are chrome-plated.
The side part of the Nissan Almera 2015 has not changed much, the designers decided to leave it the same, except that they made the edges on the front fenders a little clear and convex. Equipped with standard 14 "wheels, only V CVT and VL CVT models are equipped with 15" wheels. The rear end was also redesigned, the taillights became more streamlined, which led to a change in the shape of the trunk. The handle on the boot lid is decorated with a wide chrome strip located above the license plate. Rear fog lights are included in all trim levels.
The new body of the Nissan Almera 2015 will be available to the buyer in the following color shades:
- Pearl white;
- Grayish bronze;
- Gray;
- Black;
- Bright red;
- Dark purple.
As for the dimensions of the chassis, on which such a converted body from Teana is installed, they have changed slightly from the previous model, the dimensions have decreased:
- The length of the sedan is - 4425 mm;
- Width - 1695 mm;
- Height - 1500 mm;
- The wheelbase is now 2600 mm.
In the wake of the base, the ground clearance, or as it is called, the ground clearance, was changed, for cars of the basic configuration it is 153 mm, for comfortable 162 mm.
The minimum turning radius is 5.2 meters.
By weight, the new car Nissan Almera 2015 is not heavy:
- S MT complete set - 957 kg;
- E MT complete set - 979 kg;
- E CVT complete set - 1027 kg;
- EL CVT equipment - 1031 kg;
- V CVT equipment - 1032 kg;
- VL CVT equipment - 1032 kg.
In general, the body looks good, but it would still be much better if the chassis were increased or at least the size of the wheels. In addition to the standard body, Almera also offers a tuned version with the Nismo package, which includes a body kit around the perimeter of Nissan, sixteen-inch wheels with sports tires and a sports exhaust system, a steering wheel covered with leather. The package also includes a navigation system and a good speaker system.
Interior Nissan Almera 2015-2016
Salon Nissan Almera 2015-2016, like the body, has undergone changes. It is designed for five seats. But with the change in the size of the body, there is less space in the cabin (but not much, it is practically not noticeable with the previous body). It will not be very comfortable for three adult men to sit in the back seat, since the car is not very wide, but the knees will not rest against the front seats, in this regard, the developers have taken care.
The interior trim is available in black with gray accents, which does not give the buyer a lot of choice. The layout is made of quality materials. It is in the cabin that Almera is divided by equipment. The interior is decorated in silver. The door decoration, in the form of a silver stripe, is available only for the V CVT and VL CVT trim levels, as well as only in these trim levels chrome door handles are available, in the rest they are black.
The first thing that catches your eye is always the control panel. Designers try to put as many functional buttons on it as possible, to make the panel different from that of other models. In the New Nissan Almera 2015, the last restyling, the panel changed its dimensions proportionally, as well as the car body. The center console houses the air conditioning control systems in the S MT, E MT and E CVT trim levels, and the climate control system is installed in the EL CVT, V CVT and VL CVT trim models.
The base model Nissan Almera S MT lacks many convenient and useful functions, for example, no audio system, steering wheel without multi-control, which already indicates the absence of a navigation system or Bluetooth. Any configuration provides for the installation of an on-board computer, which will show the distance traveled, fuel economy, and a digital electronic clock.
In the maximum trim levels of the Nissan Almera 2015-2016, a multimedia system from a touchscreen 6.1 inch screen is installed. The control system for such a display is based on Android, developed by Edaran Tan Chong Motor specifically for this restyling of the Nissan Almera.The multimedia system includes a navigation system, TV functions, radio, control of various car functions. Under the multimedia screen there are buttons for controlling climate control / air conditioning, heated rear and front windows. A little lower there are two holders for a glass, it will be a little inconvenient when using a mechanical box, since when you turn on the first or third gear, you will constantly hit your hand against the glass.
In the previous model, the manual transmission was pushed back, and the cup holders were in maximum configurations with automatic transmission. A little further back from the checkpoint handle there is a handbrake, it will be hard for someone who is tall, because they do not quickly tighten it, unlike the previous model, they pushed it back and to the side, which creates some inconvenience. But with my height of 174 cm, I did not notice any problems with the handbrake. In general, it was comfortable to sit behind the wheel.
The maximum configurations of the Nissan Almera 2015 boast a Start / Stop button (I did not have one), which allow you to start or stop the car engine without turning the key, this was not the case in the previous model. Not far from the Start button there is a place for the Smart Key, or as the chip key is called, until 2015 Nissan used such a system only in premium cars, but now it is introducing the maximum configuration in all its models.
Behind the steering wheel there is a dashboard made in the style of Nissan, a beautiful, large tachometer and a speedometer in chrome wells are clearly visible in any weather and in any light, they are separated by a monochrome display that shows all information about the car, the distance traveled, the amount of fuel in tank, overboard temperature and other useful information for the driver.
To the right of the steering wheel are the mirror control buttons. Slightly lower is the button for turning on / off the Nissan Pure Drive system - when you stop at a traffic light, the engine automatically stops working (just release the brake pedal, the engine starts automatically). The function often infuriated me, because at the slightest stop in a traffic jam, the engine was turned off. What's even more annoying is that the system is always "On" after the ignition is turned off. That is? you start the engine and you need to press "Auto Off".
When the fuel comes to an end (two dashes remain), the approximate distance in km that the car will be able to drive on the remains in the fuel tank starts flashing on the display.
The head restraints in the car are both integrated into the seats, for the basic S MT configuration, and removable for all other configurations.
Still, I would like to slightly increase the interior of the Nissan Almera 2015, since the reduced dimensions are felt not only on the dashboard, but on the convenience of driving a car for large people.
The trunk of the car is still not small and is 490 liters, there is a backlight around the entire perimeter, which makes it easy to see the capacity at night. The maximum configuration boasts an electronic trunk lock, which allows you to close and open both from the driver's cab and with a Smart key.
Car safety Nissan Almera 2015
The developers also paid attention to the safety of passengers, in all configurations, without exception, except for standard seat belts, the SRS safety system, a door lock for children and an additional brake light on the rear window or spoiler are included. Stability systems ABS, EBD are also included in all configurations, except for the S MT. The reversing camera is only available with the VL CVT. In a cheap configuration, there is only a sound sensor for approaching rear objects. In all trim levels, the car is equipped with two airbags.
Specifications of the new Nissan Almera 2015
The technical characteristics of the car do not please those who like fast driving or large engines. The car will be delivered to the market with a gasoline, three-cylinder, twelve-valve, V-shaped, injection CVTC engine with a volume of 1200 cc. The torque is 106 Nm / 4400 rpm. min., with a capacity of 79 horses. Due to its small volume, the average fuel consumption of the Nissan Almera 2015 is 5 liters per 100 km with a manual transmission and 5 × 6 liters with a variator. The volume of the fuel tank is 41 liters. The maximum speed of the Nissan Almera 2015 is about 160 km / h.
After accelerating the car to 140 km / h or more, the car does not behave very well on the road. I accelerated it as much as possible to 157 km / h, it was possible to squeeze out a little more, but the speed limiter began to squeak for a long time (my wife did not allow it to go more than 120). But on a normal track, it is very comfortable to drive 100 × 120 km / h, the revs were about 1800 × 2300 rpm.
Air emissions are approximately 120 g / km, complies with the Euro 4 standard.
The car will come with a five-speed manual transmission for the S MT, E MT trim levels and a four-speed automatic transmission of the XTronic CVT type for the Nissan Almera E, EL, V, VL trim levels with CVT markings (which I got).
The brake system is no different from the previous model, front disc, rear brakes are based on drums.
It can be concluded that the 2015-2016 Almera was, in principle, economical, affordable and with good functions, which are now not found in every budget car. In terms of technical parameters, it is also not inferior to other cars, the engine is economical and small in volume, even with an automatic transmission, fuel consumption does not increase much, as is usually the case in other cars. The control console is made from pleasant materials and with thoughtful placement of control buttons.
Price Nissan Almera 2015 (Versa)
In Russia, the price of the Nissan Almera 2015 (Versa) is not yet known. But there are rumors that they want to install not 1.2, but 1.5 × 1.6 liter engines. In Thailand, this car is sold at the following configuration prices as of 04/20/2015:
- S MT - 433 thousand Thai baht, 13 350 US dollars;
- E MT - 464 thousand baht, $ 14,300;
- E CVT - 498 thousand baht, $ 15 350;
- E Sportech - 525 thousand baht, $ 16,200;

I can safely say that the car is perfect for people who want to drive economically and not fast. Who cares about safety and moderate driving, as well as sufficient space in the trunk and in the back seat.
