The start of production and sales of the brand new Land Rover Discovery is scheduled for early next year. Construction and assembly of SUVs will be carried out in Britain, as well as at a new plant in Slovakia.

For the first time, presented at the Paris Motor Show, the Land Rover Discovery will go on sale in Europe early next year. Initially, the main place of production and assembly of the SUV was a plant in Britain, but its workload does not allow it to produce cars as planned. Thus, the company decided to build and establish production at the plant, which will be located in the town of Nitra in Slovakia. According to preliminary data, about 150,000 SUVs will leave the assembly line annually. Investors are ready to invest about a billion pounds to build a new plant for the production of Land Rover Discovery.

The latest generation of Discovery SUVs features upgraded features and enhancements. Unlike previous generations, the basis of the SUV is aluminum, which, due to its properties, improves the efficiency of the fuel system and reduces the weight of the car, making it 480 kg lighter. Its external dimensions have also changed, its length is 140 mm longer and its height is 40 mm shorter. Another addition is the increase in ground clearance, which is 283 mm. The depth of the hole that the SUV can overcome reaches 900 mm. The noticeable increase in interior space in the Land Rover Discovery also stands out. It has a large number of different compartments, and the trunk volume is 2500 liters. A distinctive feature of the SUV will be the opening and closing system using a waterproof Activity Key bracelet.

The interior of the Discovery SUV is equipped with a variety of modern options and gadgets. First of all, this is the newest multimedia complex InControl Touch Pro. The touch screen is 10 inches. The audio system supports many well-known audio formats. In addition, 9 USB ports are included. The complex includes various useful functions. First of all, this is the Terrain Response 2 cruise control. Its task is to recognize and adapt to road conditions.

Additionally, there is the All-Terrain Progress Control system, which also monitors the road. Also in the SUV Discovery is a system that allows you to reduce the size of the clearance, namely Auto Access Height. Depending on the type of Discovery equipment, the SUV may have a built-in Wi-Fi router that supports 3G speeds.

On the technical side, Discovery will come with several engine types. Both diesel and gasoline engines are available for various types of modifications. The maximum power is 340 horsepower, the minimum - 180. The engine is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission ZF, as well as one or two-stage unit that distributes torque. All-wheel drive is also built into the SUV.

For Europeans, the Land Rover Discovery SUV will be offered in several variants, namely S, SE, HSE, HSE Luxury and finally the unique First Edition. For the latest model, the number of Discovery vehicles will be limited.
